Developing a Fluorescent Hybrid Nanobiosensor Based on Quantum Dots and Azoreductase Enzyme forMethyl Red Monitoring
Background: Azo dyes are the most widely used synthetic colorants in the textile, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and other industries, accounting for nearly 70% of all dyestuffs consumed. Recently, much research attention has been paid to efficient monitoring of these hazardous chemicals and their related metabolites because of their potentially harmful effect on environmental issues. In contr...
متن کاملTowards in vivo intradermal surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) measurements: silver coated microneedle based SERS probe.
We propose a microneedle coated with silver (Ag) to detect analytes at low concentrations positioned at a depth of more than 700 μm below the surface of a skin phantom with absorbers and scatterers for mimicking the intradermal surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) measurements. The Ag layer in the Ag-coated microneedle-based probe is found to be the key to the effective detection of analyte...
متن کاملThermogelling 3D Systems towards Stem Cell-Based Tissue Regeneration Therapies.
Stem cell culturing and differentiation is a very important research direction for tissue engineering. Thermogels are well suited for encapsulating cells because of their non-biotoxic nature and mild sol-gel transition as temperature increases. In particular, thermogels provide a 3D growth environment for stem cell growth, which is more similar to the extracellular matrix than flat substrates, ...
متن کاملTowards a 3D Sketch-Based Modelling API
Sketch-based applications are rapidly gaining popularity in 3D modelling because of the intuitive penand-paper metaphor. Even inexperienced users with little computer graphics and digital design background can use them to create 3D models rapidly. However, the development of sketch-based applications is usually difficult and time consuming. In this paper, we present a framework for simplifying ...
متن کاملA single protein based nanobiosensor for odorant recognition
We propose a nanosensor with a biological active part able to identify specific odorants. The biological part should be constituted by olfactory receptors pertaining to the G protein-coupled receptors, the most efficient natural sensors for odorant discrimination. Modeling, design, and experiments performed for proving the concept are reported and discussed.
